  • RPM reading very slow help!

I have put my car back together and for some reason my tach reading is very slow, can anyone give me any ideas or similar problems? I think my tach just might be bad but I do not want to purchase one just to find out. I have searched and found nothing. Thanks in advance for any word from the wise

Is the needle slow to rise, or are the numbers simply lower than the actual engine speed?

Pick up a gauge tester and go test that biotch out.

Did you detune your car? When you make less power you usually get less response from the throttle

no the needle is slow, the car is not tuned yet pig rich 10.0 air fuels. I am just meaning that when you rev, the tach is slow to rise. There is a screw on the back? What exactly does it do?

there are lots of little screws on the back take the cluster out and try each one to make sure they are not loose if one is that can cause the tach to work off and on so maybe it could be your problem

ok gotcha, so they are contact screws basically and one might be shorting out? I will have to see. I dont know if this cluster worked properly before hand or not so worse case I guess I will buy another one damn it! Everything else works, where does the tach signal come form on r32 gtrs?
