My transmission is pissing out fluid from some metal tube located at the top of the tramsmission. Why? Is it because the shop i went to put too much fluid in? or is it something else. Thanks.

Lol that's the breather so I'd say over filled. How they could have done that though I dunno. the fill hole is half way up the tranny.Last edited by NismoS-tune; 02-12-2011, 04:55 PM.Black 1991 GTR. Serious garage stand mantle/parts car.

some shops have pumps and actually pump the fluid in... or they may have been extra retarded and used a small hose to pump fluid in through the breathers?
either way, drain them both and sort if properly, transfercase sux to replaceThe SkyLife Community & News Website --> http://www.skylife4ever.com

Ah! You CAN overfill from the "side-fill" hole IF the car is jacked up at a strange angle. Lets say the car is jacked up from front, fluid will shift to the back of the bellhousing and vice versa. I filled mine like this last time, fluid poured out of the overflow as well ONLY when hot.
Also, depending on the weight of oil used, you have to remember that its quite a bit thinner warm. After the track day i had a few spots of oil coming out but this was with 140w gear oil. Redline exceeds 200 something weight, and i never had an issue with it.
I'd say definite overfill issue..Check out the GTST Projects page and keep up to date with my build!

You probably can't damage anything by overfilling it either unless they dramatically overfilled it!
I wouldn't worry about it personally, it'll probably go away after it's spat out all the fluid it doesn't want. if you're mechanically inclined then jack the car up and check the level by hand, or go back to the shop you had the work done at and ask them to check the level because you think that it may be overfilled.1992 GTR - 2.7L, GT2871R's, forged bottom end, big valves, 270* cams, R34 getrag
