heh, I'm just paranoid because I changed from Carrillo to eagles last minute.
Anyways, the baby is due within 3 weeks now so it's going to slow things down however I hope to have it broken in and ready for a VI since I have no insurance now. Should be tuning by May. 94 octane, aquamist water/meth. Should see 550whp easy.

i wouldnt fret about the eagle rods, theres nothing wrong with them, they just dont have a fancy logo of a big name company etched into them.

I do have regrets about where I've gone with the engine but it was due to others making me believe they were the right choices... Now I have to wait till the next time I build the engine and make it better.

Well you did write this and that sounds to me like you said you need to ring its neck to make big power ? How much power are you looking for 8-900whp ??
NismoStune - I wanted my car built more for retarded response and a fairly safe 600whp on pump gas and meth,the way my cams are timed and the machine work turbo,fuel and cams (degreed) are set up I feel its a winning combo and I dont have to rev the guts out of it to make power. I THINK my cams are N1's I wont know until I take them off to verify.
Super-dude : I have a built motor now with a lightly modified fuel system - Modified N1 pump, tomei orifice- So I didnt want to push it to hard. When we finally got it all set up and on the dyno my whp and torque peaked at just over 480lbs/ft @ about 7100rpm so there isnt any point revving past that so set the limiter to 7200. I honestly havnt even revved it that hard since the dyno. It is balanced and blueprinted but I just dont want to kill the oil pump
Terrh - I agree with you %100 and I hope that if he plans on revving that high that there isnt a single oem part in the head lol

You have to also key in the factor about cam duration vs spring closing time. A large aftermarket cam on stock springs may be possible, but with a longer valve open duration, the spring will have a smaller window with less time per rotation to close the valve. Boost pressure and exhaust manifold back pressure will also take away the spring's effective strength since they try to pull the valve back down.

I'm building for lower end anyways. Couldn't afford to push to better springs, valves. I have shitty eagle rods too lol.

if you are running cams that will make it breathe at 9000+rpm you're going to want springs too.

Why would limit yourself to 7200rpm? That doesnt sound like much fun. I hated when my car was tuned for 7000rpm.
With good balancing, a good oiling setup and a proper head 9k rpm isnt asking that much from a RB.

that's nuts!!!! lots of power for small turbos. I've seen bigger HKS GT2530 turbos with a new engine punch out 530whp with something like 21psi. How are you making so much power with 1.1 bar or so? No one said anything about reving the engine to 10k with N1 turbos - I'm not sure where you got that from. The N1 turbos are sort of the first stage of the build to be followed by a possible single turbo or large twin turbo set up later into the year...

I'm running N1's and I'm at 520whp @ 16psi with a 7200rpm redline which I never take it to, so your belief that you Need to rev these engines up to 10k to make power isn't correct. Well thanks for the opinions guys. This isn't my first build and I know what I'm doing.. I really just wanted some first hand experience on valve floating.
Anyway, I thought about it today and bought some upgraded valve springs. Shouldn't be an issue now.
