hi guys. i have an rb30 with a gt4094r on, 6 boost manifold and 50mm turbosmart external gate. you are right the transition is very harsh. i run 660bhp @ all 4 hubs at 1.5 bar, so i have done some digging and sent my exhaust housing away and had this done. not got the car running yet but i thought i might throw a spanner in the works .lol apparently transition will be like twins and boost responce should come down between 500-800 rpm..also enclosed a u tube link so you can hear the beast..lol
Im running the same set up lucky with no shuffle, I had a little when I was running a tial 50mm bov but that was because of the spring I had. Are you running a single or dual solenoid boost controller ? did you check all your wastegate vacuum lines for leaks ( only takes about 5 mins ) have you done a boost leak test ? sometimes shuffle is mistaken for cavitaion which is when your turbo isnt getting enough air it makes that chopping noise. Does it do it under wot or full boost ?
Power wise they are great, but like you I can't stand the shuffle so they have to go.. Someone smarter than me could probably fix it but I want to go simpler..
Haven't tried or been in a big single but i only have one complaint about the twin -5's im rockin... shuffle i have yet to get a properly divided twin turbo pipe to solve it but -5's are more then enough when built with proper supporting mods to scare the sh*t outta you power and response wise...

NismoS if you have no idea what you are talking about. You probably should just shut up so you don't look stupid. Building a car with a 520whp twin setup planing to tear it down to build 600whp in 12 months isnt the smartest way to build a car or spent your money. So we made the jump at once. You have no idea what was done to the car over the 11 month build so zip it.
Was just trying to understand why 580whp wasn't enough and what was reused/replaced. Is there a build thread somewhere I could check out? Just curious how much work it would be if someone else wanted to do the same. Is all I do like your work though, so I didn't mean to hate. I'm really jealous, I swear. I'd just like to see what's all being done sir. I'm considering upgrading myself but would like to see what all is involved. I'm pretty useless with a wrench so I wanted to get some insight if someone would be talking 20k build or 80k build kinda thing.
Edit: Reading a text sometimes may trigger incorrect feelings so blame my wording maybe, I should not post at 12am after a days of work when I'm up at 530am. hah sorry, yes I dont' know what I'm taking about which is why I pay others to do the work I guess.
So really, he paid for some kind of work more than once. What's your rates like? $150/hr? $200? eek expensive.
Which EFR turbo? 91mm? 1000hp? Cause I'd hope it'd be better than the previous 600+hp one.
