  • Sard FPR

anyone have any experience with this ?

Sard Fuel Regulator to dampen the pressure spikes caused by high flow fuel pumpes and cycling injectors.

im thinking of using it in conjunction with my hks fuel rail and getting rid of the fuel dampener that sits under the intake plenum.

anyone forsee any problems i might run into ? will it do the job that the current dampener does ?

what fuel dampener? I never noticed anything more than just some fuel lines and a fuel filter under there myself...

on an R33 GTR the fuel filter is mounted on the inner fender and if you trace the 2 fuel lines on the stock fpr you will find there is a small black plastic device mounted inline between the filter and fpr (at least i think its on that line) . This dampens the pulses from the fuel pump and also dampens pulses reflecting back down the Fuel rail from what i understand.

I wanted to remove it and rely upon the sard FPR to dampen the pulses so that i can do away with another piece of junk under the plenum I'm a great fan of simplification

From what I understand, if want to remove damper FPR, need a dual entry Sard fuel rail + 2x fuel pumps sending fuel to fuel rail from Sard surge / collector tank in the trunk and stock fuelpump or similar as a lift pump to surge / collector tank. That's so the fuel enters both sides of fuelrail and pulses come together in the middle (pulses get canceled out) where it exits and goes to Sard FPR (mounted on strut tower or similar) via a braided hose, fittings and then back to tank via braided hose, fittings.

Sard has worked out surge / collector tank size, fuelpump size, etc. It's a bolt on mod if you buy all the parts from Sard and associated hoses, fittings separately. But it's not needed unless your finding the limit's of stock fuel system.

If running single entry fuelrail (stock or aftermarket fuelrail), need the damper FPR. I think Nismo sell upgraded versions of both FPR's.

I was planning to run a line from the filter to the back of an HKS rail i have , then from the front of the HKS rail to the sard FPR that then passes the excess to the tank. I can also mount a fuel pressure gauge on the HKS rail too for adjustment. The FPR also has a small connector to connect it to the intake so that it can compensate when under boost etc.
