Thanks Evil, Allen has got me a piston coming overnight. I should have all the parts on Friday and will put it all back together. I honed the cyl today and it looks pretty good.

I will try to post a pic of the piston etc for search reference.

Ya just needed a quick hone to seat the new rings, luck had it that the engine didn't run very long with a broken ring land. As long as the piston I get is in decent shape it will be well within spec.

Im also rebuilding this winter to a stronger setup, so didn't want to take the crank out. Just repair this cyl and drive it for the summer.

May I ask how much will the total be when it's all said and done?

It's most likely too much boost on a 20 yr old motor. However this motor is new to me so I don't know the history.

Cost will be about 400 bucks 100 of that being shipping for overnight parts...

I'm going to EMT you $200 to cover half of the cost. PM me your info and I'll do it in the next couple days.

Thanks Dylan that would be great.

So Update, Took the motor apart and was planning on replacing cyl 1 piston and of course new rings. Well I took a good look at piston #5 and saw some blowby (carbon areas on the piston near the wall). I decided to take that one out. Well that one had a cracked ring land as well! Same size and spot. This cyl also compression checked at 155. When I took the ring out the piston just fell apart, so im glad I didn't get the motor back together just to break again!

So I ended up replacing all the rings after pulling and replacing the 2 pistons.

Reassembled tonight back to long block form, deleted the factory oil cooler for a Greddy cooler. Ill put it in tomorrow, but we wont start it until Sunday because Im going to get the intake piping cleaned up first.

                      Updates soon.

I'd like to help out. I would have never assembled the RB, or sold it if I knew of these issues...

Fired it up today, but had no exhaust on yet so didn't let it run for very long. Tomorrow ill get the down pipe and the accessories on and we shall see what happens.

                              So far so good!

BTW I also installed a GREX oil cooler while it was out, anyone know how much oil the cooler and about 10ft of -10AN lines takes?

                              cooler looks about 10 row and 1" X 6" X 10"
