Wierd clicking noise..........

Hey

I have a clicking noise coming from under my dash when Im drivig at about 100 km + - and its continous the moment I slow down to about 90 95 it goes away. It seems like a relay clicking, Ive checked everying under the dash wiring, the fuse box ect.....I was told it might be coming from the speedo. Cant figure out where it is coming from exactly, and its getting me nervous cant check under the dash while driving at 100km.

has anyone ever seen this before or heard about it, any suggestions would be a big help.

It's going to be the speed warning dinger on 20 year old car. It's probably so old the ding is just a click. Mine only worked sometimes. A lot of people take them out. It's on the back of the circuit board your speedo is attached to. Do a search on here, you will find a how to on taking it out, if you do you will probably break the brittle speedo cable though...

i pulled out the gauge cluster once to replace the cluster cover I noticed some sort of silver box on the back of it, but i assumed that it was the chime, guess i was wrong.

the silver box is the chime take that off no need for it

Sure it does, if the clicking is the dead chime and you want it to stop, take it out.
