  • high idle and horsepower

hey guys my r32 gtr is currently idling at 1200 rpm when cold and 1500 to 1700 when hot I already know there could be several causes to that so i'm not looking for possible reasons I'm bringing it to my mechanic to have it checked out my question is will that affect the horsepower, i tried a 0-100kmph test and i was just below 7 seconds mind you it feels alot faster, and i was starting and stopping the stopwatch myself , or maybe my speedo is screwed any thoughts on this would help thanks in advance

It won't but either you must have done something wrong. My 0-100 was 4.51 sec with a G-Teck with a virtually stock GTR. My idle is about 1400 too. Still trying to solve that issue.

Don't forget that factory numbers for a stock gtr also mean when your car was brand new... I've see. Things that say 11.8 1/4... Any stock gtr doing that is bs

If anything, cars get faster as they age. As things get looser, friction gets less and less and the car wants to roll easier. As long as you are on top of the care and maint., cars only get better with age.

You may have an issue that not only is affecting the idle but costing you power (boost leak, MAF issues). You should have a pass. to do the stopwatch, consentrating on driving will also drop your 0-60.
