  • Cat temp sensor

What is the function of this ? Does it feed back to the ECU to help the fuelair mixture ? maybe on cold starting ?

I have not seen it on any of my other vehicles .

is it bad to remove it ?

I would think a cat sensor would show overly lean and when you put in an apexi it will flash if knock is too high

          It won't.

This sensor has it's own light on the dash(at least mine does). It is a temperature sensor and it is supposed to turn the cat overheat light on when the temperature in the cat gets too high (signaling a plugged/clogged cat).

So basically its just a safeguard to tell you that the cat has a problem .

Good , so no harm done when i remove it to use the floor bung for my wideband O2 cable !

Apparently it needs to be grounded or else the cat light will stay lit in your dash.

IT'S only a temp sensor on your cat.

The light turns on when the temp. on cata exceed 850 C or 1562 F.

                  Its his only function.

exact + I don't know if its its like for everyone who runs an apexi, but mine, lights flash if there are too many knock, or if the limit set of injector duty cycle is exceeded or if the limit set voltage of MAF is exceeded.
