  • ABS removal on GTR

How did you plumb your lines? After you removed the pump, did you have any trouble with the HICAS system?

Can I remove the ABS computer too, and if so, where is it?

Remove all the lines from the until, run the one that comes from the rear back to the master cylinder and remake the lines that go to the front with a T piece, you'r just redoing the front lines, and keeping the one that goes to the back. Also, keep the sensors at the wheels as the ets ecu uses them for the 4WD

And the ets ecu is in the left hand side of the trunk. But its used also for 4WD so you still need it.

Good luck with your brake bias after you delete the ABS module.
      No build thread.

The master cylinder has one already, so he's fine.

If you have the r32 service manual Terrh go to page 546 so you can see what im taking about.

Another way you could set it up is to change cylinders and use non-ABS BM44 master cylinder off a gtst(I think) and also the front lines.

My brake bias will probably already need some work since I upgraded to R34 GTR calipers/rotors all around.

          Neptune, thanks so much!

No problem, In the service manual it even says how to properly adjust the bias, but I cant seem to find the damn page. Just be careful, I generally try to set the bias to 60 front and 40 rear.

Hicas is not in any way related to the ABS system

I deleted the stock abs system and got OEM non abs lines out of a non abs GTS-T, and then i got an R34 BM-57 BMC and modified it into a non abs brake master.

the OEM brake system does not have an adjustable proportion valve.

How did you set up you'r bmc derk, any pictures, how does it feel?

Must have been a diffrent bmc I was reading for then, It says in the manual that the bmc has a proportion valve, one-piece contained in master cylinder, but thats about it. It was probably for GTS25T then.

No idea haha, but I doubt the lines from the R32's will work on the R33.

No point in changing out the MC, if you plan on putting in a LineLock leaving it in will actually make your job much easier (it`s easier anyway, just use a T). I plan on ditching my ABS real soon because it leaks (so much that my MC is empty right now....lol).

I picked up an adjustable proportioning valve at Lordco for $60 from SSBC and will plumb that into the rear circut. I need it for two reasons, 1: I wasn`t sure where the orig. PV was and 2: I will also be putting on the R33 rotors and caliper spacers from AMS and will need to tweek the bias a little (I am also running staggared tires, 245f and 275r). I`m also putting a LineLock in the front.

As far as I have researched, all you need to do is remove the unit and tuck the wiring harness away. You will also have to learn to ignor the ABS light untill it burns out (or remove it).

so the Proportioning valve in the MC is fine and don't need a a/m? The same as the r32?

I've considered doing a linelock too but with AWD and how little I'll be able to use it at the dragstrip (not gonna be able to pass tech now w/o a cage) I think I just won't bother. I hope the stock M/C works OK with the R34 calipers, they're physically massive. I'll pull my ABS light lol (and the HICAS one while I'm in there).
