  • Stock BOV recirc location?

Hey guys, I bought a recirc adaptor for my greddy type rs bov as I am having idle issues etc.

See the pic below. There is this piece of plastic, the bottom is blocked off. Is that where it is normally recirculated too? If not, could someone please be kind enough to point me in the right direction? Stock piping etc. is all gone due to a larger intercooler and I have never seen what a stock GTR looks like.

i think idle problem means the bov might be leaking? or leak somwhere else

Sorry, the question isn't about my idle problem and the others caused by the VTA BOV, the question is where is the stock BOV recirc location? Where does the air enter after the MAF's to recirculate?

It comes in under and before the intake pipe that says twin turbo (closer to firewall).

If you retain the stock rubber piping from MAF's to turbo's there is a point in the rear turbo's piping that has a connection for the recirc. The front turbo's recirc goes to a fitting in the stock metal turbo inlet.

Where is your BOV mounted? I'm going to add a BOV to my setup next week and have been debating over putting it in the stock location closer to the ITB's with the drawback or having to plumb a pipe to the other side or just putting it close to the turbo's with minimal plumbing...

So I assume your new BOVs are recirc too? I'm a sucker for details and I tend to like the complex but efficient route. Putting the bov at the stock location makes the recirced air a denser charge. Also since heat is a factor, the two BOVs location would need their pressure tweaked; I see the BOV at the turbo side exhausting more pressure than it should since it's going to see hot air.

Well I will only run one BOV. My understanding is the reason it is placed closer to the ITB's was because it is denser air at that end, so maybe I will just put it at that end. I would love to see how other people have their setup's run. Just not looking forward to setting up the piping all the way across the car, kinda wish I had the stock piping still there...

Otherwise I will keep running no BOV it works well but it run's rich on off throttle because of the air going backwards through the MAF and being read again.

Great, I'll try to locate it tonight to see what the deal is. Thanks DarkCaporaL!

My BOV is mounted on the left side of the engine bay opposite of intake, right before the intercooler. I have to plumb back all the way across the engine bay. I have no idea if this is the best location, it was a self install by the previous owner not done by a pro. A combination of a vacuum leak and the VTA BOV are causing a few problems. Thanks, I'll check it out.
