  • Intercooler options

I need to replace my stock intercooler because it's got a large dent in it. I have been searching around for intercooler kits but haven't come up with much.

What is everyone else doing for intercoolers these days? Any suggestions appreciated.

Correctly sized ARC intercooler if you can afford it. Nismo intercooler is another option. R33 GTR or R34 GTR stock intercooler is an upgrade over R32 GTR if using stock turbo's or I think N1 turbo's or similar.

Hp goal = size of intercooler core -

Look at flow of air through intercooler core (fin pattern, etc) to radiator (affects coolant temps). Stock GTR intercooler is good at letting air get through core to radiator. From memory, thickness (too thick?) of core affects this flow.

Also there's tube N fin, bar N plate. From what I understand, bar n plate removes more heat from air but has a heavier core (factory intercooler, 20kg or so). Tube n fin is I think higher flowing, lighter with core.
