You and a lot of ppl on GTRC but I personally don't want to put more load on my original oil pump with the viscous flowof the 50 weight increasing the pressure head at low temp. It's somewhat the same reason why I'm not putting a 1.3bar rad cap with my original water hoses on. Anyway IIRC some GTRCers reported smoother idles and low RPM range with 30 weight, which makes sense since you're not pumping molasses.

Edit: If I'd track I'd have put heavier weight to compensate for the heat increase

As for the 15 cold weight, It's no problem if your engine is warmed up but since stock turboes have journal (sleeve) bearings, I'm wondering if running the cold weight at startup might cause any lube problems in the housing? It's probably not a problem with A/M turboes though.

I do alot of racing which was the main reason for the heavier weight. And always made it a habbit (most of the time lol) not to go boosting and beatin on it daily till all my gauges were at operating temp. Still running stock turbos at .8 bar at the moment, thinking about raising it to .95 bar

Running Redline 5w30 , temp never goes above 80 even with some hard running , before i fitted the mishimoto rad and the HKS oil cooler temps used to rise to over 100 on crusing higher than 100kmh.

And before the upgrades my oil pressure on a hot day after a journey was just above the bottom mark on idle , 2 bar on revving, its now 4 bar on revving and does not drop below 2 bar on idle.

Oil coolers make a huge difference. My temps are always at 80 as long as the car is moving. Then when I get stuck in traffic on a hot day (such as when we went to Skymeet), oil temps go up to about 95 for me.

The HKS oil cooler and lines also add almost 2 quarts of oil to the circulating oil took 7 quarts to do the oil last week
