  • Driver cv axle

Was missing the front driverside cv axle when I bought my gtr. Bought a used one off of a GTRC member, cv looked in good shape (no torn boots) installed it and drove for about 400km. Did a good pull then was slowing down for a corner when SNAP! There goes the axle. Haven't took it out yet to see extent of damage (looks to be broke at knuckle closest to engine) but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why it would let go like that? I have read worn engine mounts allowing the engine to twist but I have brand new mounts. Any help or input on this would be great.

    Cheers.

Ok thank you. Next question I guess then, where can I buy a new driverside front axle for a decent price?

PM me if you want pricing on one and I'll get a quote for you. I get really good pricing at a US dealership and they can get everything from overseas.
