It is hard on our weak oil system. Oiling system needs to be upgraded before reving that high, and bouncing off the rev limiter is hard on your gear no matter what you got.

You didn't buy a gtr to do burnouts, so don't worry about them

Rev limiters saved my engine. I had a gtr with NO rev limiter. If you think 8500 sounds sick(I completely agree), then 10,000 sounds better. Ten isn't good though. My engine didn't last long.

I agree it does sound awesome ! My answer for you is to install a Bee-R or a rev limiter to do burnouts, set it at 5000rpm or lower and bounce off it all day !!! Who doesnt love a good burnout !!

Hope you didn't buy a car you can't afford... Hate to see em come and go cause they're expensive to keep but cheap to buy

When I did a lot of upgrades last year i thought i was gonna rev to 8500 on my rb25 but as another member said then oil systems in our cars are not strong enough to pump oil efficiently at that rpm. Also without a harmonic balancer, stick to your factory rev limit or add 500 rpm. I rev mine to 7500 max, and believe me, it just starts to sound good at that rpm. Don't be greedy, keep it safe. Or you can fully build the motor, massive oil and fuel set up, and then you can rev to 10,000 rpm until the cows come home. These cars have the ability to be bullet proof, but not from the factory

Ya well said. Just look up rb26 oil pump drive issue and you should get all the Info u need. New crank collar and oil pump and an oil pan baffle and you should be ok. But the harder you drive it the harder it will empty your wallet. Not to say don't have fun, that's why we buy these cars just respect it.
