  • Installing a catchcan= need a tuning?

    I heard because a catchan add more air to the engine you need a tune adfter this mod? does the added air matters that much?

      The differences are miniscule , the ECU will make the adjustments by utilizing the data from the MAFS and O2 sensors .

      It's only because the stock PCV system does return some contaminated and unburnt fuel / oil from the crank case into the intake. Once you use a catch can (depending on how you set it up ) the engine does not have to burn the junk anymore.

        If you eliminate the PCV by blocking it completely and reroute all Valve cover hoses to the catch can, then there is no added air. Otherwise, if you keep the PCV connection, then, when the engine is in vacuum, it will draw air from the catch can.
