  • Question! Regarding Engine Covers ( Cam Cover, coil covers )

    How's it going.

I want to paint the plastic pieces covering my 2.6 motor. I was wondering if the motor had to be removed in order to paint that stuff. If so, how much of it can I paint without removing the engine?

    Thanks.

Cam and coilpack covers are metal and i belive the timing belt cover is too, so you can just remove those three peices, paint or powdercoat and then reinstall.
If you do the timing cover you will need to remove the cas which means you will have to set it correctly afterwards with a timing light. Make a small mark with a paint pen before hand to make it that much easier to reset it.
    good luck! Post pics afterwards.

Sometimes painted covers is all it takes to make a mediocre engine bay POP!
