The Advantage of a v88 is direct spark, knock control and more inputs. There are a lot of people running wasted spark v44's with 700+ hp.

If you wanna datalog a lot of inputs or have the ecu control a lot of extras. The v88 can monitor tons of stuff (pre/post turbo intake temp, x6 egt's, pre/post turbo exhaust pressure, etc, etc) and control lots of extras (water/meth, multiple thermo fans, extra injectors, nitrous, etc, etc)

I wish I would have gone v88 in the first place but I'm not going to upgrade till I definitely used the v44 to its maximum.

I'm running the V44 and I love it, the new technology sure makes it easy to fine tune and add safety's to your tune. You can run Knock control/knock sensors with the V44 to. On Vipecs website there is a clear comparison between the plug and play, the V44 and the V88. Super dude why don't you sell you V44 and upgrade the cost isn't very much more

I already have a knock box (which is still an upgrade over the 88's, so I have heard) and an expansion harness and it is already setup.

Even if I sell it for 1500, I still have to pay 2500 for a v88. On top of that I would either get a full rewire of the car from someone professionally; which would lead to a lot of "while I'm already here mods" and cost a fortune; or buy the adapter harness which is still pricey.

In the end I feel there are better places to spend my money right now... stupid wedding!
