R32 GTR Rear spoiler questions

Hey guys, ive searched everywhere still found no answers.

My question is:

What are the 4 philips screws under the spoiler holding on or used for? I have recently taken mine off as the paint is bubbling off and its full of water (apparently not normal lol).

My spoiler is also full of water. time for gaskets and urethane

I heard the solution is to drill two small holes on either side of the wing to allow for drainage. I'm going to try that aswell as seal all the cracks up with resin and sand her down for fresh paint. Just curious as to what thats screws were for, if I should take them out or leave them in.
