yeah they are quite hefty but i dont think i would be able to notice the weight difference,

But when comparing by sheer size, i cant imagine how these calipers wont be an upgrade, the diameter of the pistons
are significantly bigger, the surface area of the oem pads are hilariously small compared to the ones inside this unit

regardless what brake setup is used though, a lot of the stopping power comes from the suspension system as well, so that would need to be addressed in addition to this

If the pads are much bigger then it should be worth it. I would weigh them just for poops and giggles to see what the diff. might be. 1 pound to the unsprung is like 3 pounds to the car, plus the fact that the shocks will have to work harder to maintain control. You can always offset the weight with lighter wheels.

This is full of win if it works out! Although i am more interested in the 6piston cts-v calipers.

Edit: check out this option, probably stupid expensive, but huge huge huge baller status!!!

          ^ that is pure sex

CTS-V calipers would be pretty sick, front 6 pistons caliper set can be had brand new for ~$700 but problem would be finding the correct adaptors, can be done if taken to a experienced machine shop but if you do take into account the R&D costs you'd have to pay quite a lot

would that work for the CTS-V calipers?

I believe those work with the 07-09 cts-v calipers which fit with the 13.8 inch evo 8 rotors, the godly 6 piston cts-v uses 15 inch rotors

also, they seem to look like the rear calipers I have off the srt8

More updates on the first post!!
