Just picked up my 89 GTR couple weeks ago, Its running fairly well, but when the car is under load, from about 2200-3500 rpm there is a clicking noise coming from either driver side in the engine bay or almost under the front axle. Its not a knock, its not a very distinct noise its almost half way between an exhaust leak and injector noise but its hard to tell. Its also parallel with rpms. Driving me nuts that I can't locate it, and I am about to ghost ride the whip with the hood open to figure it out. Any suggestions where to start or help is much appreciated.

Sounds like a realy small exhaust leak possibly at the downpipe and the noise is deflecting off the frame rail and your hearing it on the driver side try going into higher rpm like 3800 then stepping on it see if it still does it.
Or if it's specifically from 2200-3500 no matter what the throttle load
Any recent oil changes before or after you started hearing that noise?
