  • R32 GTR wants to stall out

Hi Everyone, I have a R32 GTR and I'm having problems with the engine wanting to stall out when I push the clutch in to let the rpms drop while driving. If my rpm is over 3000 and I push the clutch in and let the rpms drop, it drops to the point where the engine almost stalls out. I noticed this the other day when I had to stop quickly. The engine is completely stock with the exception of new intake filters, and a custom exhaust. I cleaned the mass airflow sensors and it's still doing the same thing. If anyone knows what my problem could possibly be let me know. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Fuel pump not keeping up perhaps, have you changed the fuel filter?

AAC? Not enough vacuum coming down to idle?

Check that TPS is on idle contact at idle. When TPS is on idle contact, one of the things ECU should do is kick rpm up to prevent engine from stalling. Sometimes TPS is faulty (bent idle, WOT contact's, incorrect voltage, etc) and needs to be replaced.

              This ^^^
Check the TPS voltage at idle, or key on/engine off. Should be .48, off the center wire i believe.

              Check for vacuum leaks also!!!!

How/where does it idle once it catches itself?

it idles at 1000 rpm, its just when I'm driving and if I put the clutch in to let the rpms drop like if i have to stop all of a sudden. it drops to where it practically stalls out then it catches itself and goes back up to 1000rpm.

It doesn't do it when the engine is cold either only once it warms up

Engine idle rpm is higher when cold and o2 sensor is ignored up until certain coolant temp is reached.

Small intake airleak (check intake hose clamps, as might have undone due to vibration) or TPS. Dirty AACV is another.

I checked the voltage and it's reading 5.48 not .48

That's the signal voltage, try a different wire.

I have the same issue, still trying to find the problem after a couple months, all vacs and intake leaks are checked and no leaks, I have the TPS on closed throttle left to check

I am curious to see what your problem is because it is doing the exact same for me

I cleaned my AAC Valve and I'm still having the issue, anyone have any other ideas of what it could be? I haven't been able to find any vac leaks.
