Was working on the GTR today fixing a boost leak and noticed something, both my wastegate actuators are adjustable. I was planning on re-plumbing my MBC and didn't have time to install it so I joined the boost signal line back together with some silicon tubing. My factory boost solenoid is not connected to the vac lines and both lines leading to it are capped off. So here's my question, on my drive home from the shop I gave her some jam and my boost went straight to 15psi. Should I not max out at 1 bar? She was still making boost when I let off to save my turbos. Do OEM rb26 turbos have adjustable wastegate actuators? They are Garrett turbos which to the best of my knowledge are stock. I'm not too sure what to make of it. With everything stock and the restrictor removed I barely hit 9psi, now it's over boosting and all I did was fix a boost leak. Now I really have no need for a boost controller cause it's boosting too high. Kinda confused....

Not factory that I know of. Garrett, HKS and others make aftermarket adjustable wastegate actuators. Tightening the rod / arm can help boost come in quicker (reach full boost quicker), but shortens lifespan on adjustable wastegate actuator (spring inside).Last edited by Skym; 08-17-2012, 05:21 PM.RESPONSE MONSTER
The most epic signature ever "epic".

So it may be possible I have some more hidden goodies under my hood, lol.
Thanks for the input. I'm tearing it down soon to install my divorced dump pipes. I'll post pics of what I find.
