  • Maf options withs power fc

    hey guys,
I'm looking to either move the z32 mafs i have to the intake manifold side of the car or run a different type of maf all together. I know with nistune there are a few options to what maf you wanna run. Ive done some reading and some people are running a single z32 maf and have it wired together on the harness as 1 sensor. basically i was wondering if anyone have a description of these being done and if the maf settings has to be changed and how can they be changed when the power fc only show 5 available.

    thanks

found this link it helps explain alot but i haven't found any proof that it works
Hi All, Iv heard that mounting the AFM in the pipe as per >> "Light's" http://maataa0b.jeeran.com/DSC04126.JPG can be done, and works, there are just considerations like increased blow by on the hot wire etc, I got thinking though… I’d read Paul’s PFC site mentioning you can feed the signal...

You mentioned something like this in the shop the other day, Basically with my mistune, I have the ford lightning mac wired in on the front MAF wiring, with just the signal wire looped over to the rear MAF signal, however, that is really the easy part.... In the Power FC there should be a VQ Map, or basically a table that references the voltage to a airflow. I'm not familiar with the PFC but they have a system that runs MAP, so they have the ability to change the VQ Map. Basically, in the end, the PFC can use any MAF, it is just going to require a major retune, none of the fuel map load constants will match up... might be just as easy to sell your PFC and get a Nistune board and Lightning Maf and be done with it.

Drop up to the pond.... unplug from the car..... LOL

Any update on this? I am also curious about running 1 maf blow threw on an rb26 with a single turbo with a power fc

I did a little bit of research and got different answers, voltage signals, air volume of 1 vs. 2 mafs

Anyone can shine some light and simplify this topic?

Why go to 1 maf though unless you have a bad one already or why not check on using other vehicle's MAFs that are physically larger and able to flow more if you're gonna jimmy it in before the plenum. Or just going MAP and delete both MAFs. Not to sound discouraging but these cars have been getting modified for 20 some years and many break throughs have been shown many times. What I mean is, look at the mines car (go buy some mine's MAFs or maybe they were nismo). The thing uses conventional mafs and literally is a monster. Or even the Auto style R32 or R34. power FC maf controlled and absolutely stupid on the street.

Save the headaches and do what has been proven over and over. If you make a mistake and you run lean then boom, joke's on who?

Sorry forgot to mention I purchased a pfc and I purchased a z32 tt maf and I plan on running it blow through as I want to have my bov atmospheric, I'm just trying to keep the bay as simple as possible. I know it's been done before, I'm just looking for feedback on single maf on a single turbo rb26 with a pfc, this seems like it would be a common setup

I heard that you have to wire the maf in and tap the signal wire to both mafs signal, others said wire to 1 maf signal and leave the second pigtail unused

HKS VPC (converts MAF to MAP).

Or go power FC D-jetro, no MAF, no problems with atmospheric where if you use a wee Z32 single maf it won't be able to register as much airflow and will always run funny with an atmospheric bov unless you get something to compensate the lack of air/excess fuel.

Power fc D jetro or go single Q45 maf (larger than your little Z32 one) and win.

Hpx maf is good for blow thru. That's what I been tryin to do with the pfc but I think I may just go nistune

Well I have both the l-jetro and the z32 maf, if I set it up blow through the intake size is 3 inch and it's a direct fit with no reducer, I don't plan on making crazy numbers here I'm aiming for anything between 380-480. Now I know single z32 blow through has been done locally on an rb26 before with 530awhp but with nistune and not a power fc. So basicly my question is: can the ecu support it? Will it tune properly, how am I doing the connection on the maf signals
