  • N1 oil pump or Standard oil pump

Hi guys, looking for an educated answer on this topic. I need a new oil pump, motor is rebuilt, set up for about 350-400whp. I have tomei oil restrictors, one in each of the two oil feeds, i run an oil cooler and use 20W-50 royal purp.

Should i buy an N1 oil pump or use a new standard rb25 oil pump? thoughts and opinions please. Ive been told N1 is good. But ive also heard otherwise.

    Thanks

N1 is good (i think it pushes bigger oil volume but not higher flow/pressure). But, as the standard, it won't last long on high RPM, past 7500 or so...

anyway, theres plenty of info on what they call, the internet!

Opposite, same volume, more pressure (head).

The oil relief pressure on the standard is set to about 80psi, while the N1 is about 120psi. They both flow about the same at a given RPM under 80psi.

N1 oilpump + stronger (metallurgy), better design Reimax gears. Stock N1 oilpump gears will fail. Also keep stock revlimiters (don't rev above stock revlimiters). If rev above stock rev limiters, Tomei or similar aftermarket oilpump is used.

Oil should be around 10w with hydraulic lifters (factory is 7.5w30), 20w is way too thick, unless running forged pistons???. w50 should be correct for oiltemps.

Reimax gears, Accusump have already been mentioned in this thread that you posted -
