  • help replacing rear turbo gasket

hello the rear turbo gasket has blown on my r32 now i have already started working on it but i can't get the steel lines off that run along the side of the engine the bolt at the back is stripping and I tried liquid wrnch and heating it any ideas or help for this would be appreciated also since i am just replacing the rear turbo gasket not the front should i just do it from below the car and remove the dump pipe or do i have to continue removing every thing from the top thanks

I'm replacing my dumps tomorrow, tried doing on jack stands and it's a bitch. It is said to be possible to remove the dumps without removing the turbos, but it's uber tight. If u know anyone with hands like a 3 year old you're gonna need them, lol. I'm taking it to my shop and putting it on a hoist. U need to get rid of the heat shields and the metal intake extension off the front of the rear turbo. The tutorial also mentions unbolting the rear turbo from the manifold and let it "hang", that way u can move it around to access the dump pipe nuts.

Yeah there real tight man, I'm not even sure if you'd be able to get those dumps off without removing the turbo/manifold, I removed the down pipe, and pulled everything through the top, it really sucked, but yes, unbolt the turbo, let it hang Down a bit, then u can stick an extension through the gap to remove the manifold bolts, I started from the front and worked back.
