    So long story short I ran too much boost on the stock twin's and they are now on the garage floor. I'm basicly making a thread to get a small amount of input of things to replace/do during my swap.

    Ive decided to purchase Tomei M8260's along with new OEM headers. I'm also looking at a site called cxracing to buy their intercooler/piping(recommended by a friend).

    Ive also noticed my dump pipes look like **** so i'd like to swap those out for either new OEM ones or aftermarket. I was looking at those "screamer" pipes, anyone recommend those? With more power comes the need for better cooling so a new rad comes to mind. Blow off valves etc.

    I'm 19 so it's safe to say I don't have a ton of experience(or money) so any info pertaining to doing a successful swap, or the proper parts to purchase is appreciated!

      That's just it, im on a budget. Mostly interested in things i need and hard work i can put in(cleaning stuff, replacing lousy hardware etc.) that can keep this cost effective. Sure i'd like to get alot of new shiny things but it has to be justified.

        All new gaskets (manifolds and turbos), new crush washers for coolant lines. If you have a dremel you can grind out a little inside the manifolds and match the port to the size of the gaskets (you'll notice the opening in the gasket is larger than the opening in the manifold). What are you planning to run for engine management?

          Whats your power goal? the m8260s are a fairly big twin setup. The m7655 can make good hp levels at lower rpms as where the 8260s is for top end

            Why are you getting new OEM headers and dumps?

            A set of Tomei headers and dumps will net you some gains and make it a little easier to install. If budget is an issue, keep your current cast header and dumps. Anything else thats cheap will just give you a headache as it most likely wont bolt up.

            You wont be able to run screamers with a internally wastegated Tomeis that you have selected.

              don't buy new OEM dumps. Huge waste of money!


              Cast iron exhaust parts always look terrible, but if they aren't cracked and leaking there's no point in replacing them unless you are going to something better.

              I've got a set of HKS 2510's w/ downpipes if you are interested. Bolt on upgrade, stock lines fit etc. Don't forget that if you are going to bigger turbos you're going to need supporting mods for them, ie injectors and ECU at minimum. If your clutch is iffy it can become an issue too when you start making more power.

                This is great info guys! Thanks "SB119" i'll be doing all of that. No real power goal "cory" I just figured i'd be happier with the 8260's . Thanks for making me feel stupid "purplestreak" :P But yes i'd like to get Tomei's headers and dumps but they're a little out of my price range from what i've seen. Terrh I have 800cc injectors ready to go in, i have an AEM tru boost controller and my clutch is solid(pretty sure it's a nismo stage 2) I was only looking at the OEM dumps because i found them cheap. what do people recommend for an ECU? Remember keep it affordable.

                  wasn't trying to make you feel stupid, was just asking the obvious question lol. I personally wouldnt spend the money on those either.

                  If you want to keep it cheap Nistune definetely comes to mind. You'll have to run Z32 MAFs, and the 800cc injectors are pretty much the limit of what Nistune can handle in terms of resolution. But its definetely the best bang for your buck.

                    Yeah i was looking at Nistune and i forgot to mention Z32 Mafs. So are the Tomei headers and dumps my only option or is there an alternative? Ps, i'll be running a really mild tune. Something like 10-12 psi to start.

                      I have a set of top speed stainless tubular manifolds and dumps that I'm selling with my turbos but can sell it separate if your interested say 200 plus shipping?

                          buy corys turbos , they are a 7655 set - if you buy the larger ones you wont make power because they wont spool up unless you have a heavily modified engine .
