Water meth tuned safely is not an issue. A good system set up properly will greatly lower knock, lower combustion temps and provide a slight horse power increase. Whatever you decide to use for your fuel weather it be octane booster or methanol spray is up to you. I run meth in my car and will continue to run meth on my full tune. AEM makes a great system. Good luck!
Believe me, it works really well....when it works. I made about 250hp with a 2.2l early Dodge turbo Omni GLH on water/meth, no intercooler, 5th injector and 20psi. Also rattled the motor a bunch of times too. The 2.2s can take a heap of punishment, RB26s...not that kind of punishment (stock pistons anyway). The whole point of water meth is to tune beyond the capability of your fuel, otherwise, it's pointless. So if it ever screws up, and it's really hot out, and you've been screwing around for a while, etc, etc...........if that stops spraying, and the failsafes don't work.....
Murphy rules....

Why don't you come over to MySpace and Twitter my Yahoo untill I Google all over your Facebook.
1990 GTR Drag Special T88H34D 11.24 @ 127.55mph at only 1.2bar...... officially. SOLD
that is true jon. But thats like anything, if your oil stops pumping (oil pump problems) motor goes bye bye. Its like that with any part of the car. I monitor mine with a water meth gauge which tells me if its spraying also tells me if the system is on, pumping and working correctly.!

N1 R34GTR at Nurburgring = 500hp for 24 hour race with N1 engine. Supposedly they could have run up to 640hp.
With cast pistons, stick to 100hp per cylinder or 600hp at engine max and make sure cars cooling system (oilcooler, radiator) are up to scratch. RB26 has oil squirters and oil is sprayed onto underside of pistons to help in cooling them.
I think turbo's become efficient at around 1bar and that's as far as I would push it with stock headgasket. Tuners say max is round 20psi without engine failing (cracking block, ringlands, etc). But it comes down to km travelled, condition of engine (do a compression, leak down test before boosting engine up).
Also R34GTR N1 turbo's do fail, prototype R34GTR N1 lost 3x turbo's before they retired car.
