I have a leak coming from i think my transfer case, the fluid looks to be what i put in/the same. Heres what I have done:
-Changed the fluid with Royal Purple MAX ATF
-Removed shifter, took the top plate off and put on hi-temp gasket silicone stuff, then re-installed the top plate. That stopped the fluid that was showing up at the top near my shifter (after the trim, shift boot and stuff came off)
Now i still see oil at the bottom, and as i drive it splatters all over the bottom of the car.
My question is, can/how easy/what steps do i need to do.. to remove this part where theres to bolts and a hose goes into it? i think its coming from this point as it looks to be half-a.ss fixed and id like to fit it properly.
But i see a nipple there to possibly bleed that like?
would the transfercase fluid come out of this area?
can i drain the trasfercase fluid, take this part off (the part with the tow bolts holding it on) replace gasket and then put back together, fill up transfer case and im good to go or?
Cars on stands now, want to do it before i put it away for the winter.
Thanks!
