92 GT-R V-Spec I??

Hey guys. Got a bit of an interesting question for ya. My dad recently bought an R32 GT-R as a bit of a winter project, and to replace his old muscle car as a summer cruiser, after I took him for a ride in mine. Looking at the VIN plate to try to find more information about the car, we noticed that the number 7 right before the aa at the end of the model number, wasnt there.... A little strange we thought. So we went online and found a website that says that if it has an 8 instead of a 7, it's the V-Spec II and if it doesnt have a number there its the V-spec I. I was not aware that there was a V-Spec I. Anyone able to verify this for us? or help figure out what it actually is?

The model number is: KBNR32RXFS AA

Correction. I did realize that there is a V-Spec I. I hadn't really thought about it but its just called a V-Spec. not V-Spec I.

Either way. Verification would be nice.

V-Spec came out in Feb 1993. V-Spec II came out in Feb 1994 so if its a 1992 model it's doubtful that its really a V-Spec.

Weird, ran mine though and it has letters not described in the list above. Mine is: KBNR32RXFSLMZG. I know the V-specs #'s are KBNR32RBXXXXX. Yours is RX. So from the looks of it yours is a standard GTR like mine.

Most cars are brought into canada under their build date, not model year. So if its a vspec 1, good chance it was built in 1992.

my car was a 1990 build, ontario ownership says 1990 but its a 1991 model year

Yeah it's a little strange and not very clear. Lots of charts say different things. So who knows :P Oh well. Guess we'll never know for sure! XP

Not trying to thread jack but I have a question! My model stamp the last 2 letters are not on that website posted by OP, instead of AA mine stamped MA is there any significance? and is crystal white a rare or a common color?

In Nissan catalogue R32 GTR V-spec has the red, white coloured badges on front fenders, Brembo brakes, 225/50/R17 BBS wheels, etc -
