  • Mismatched Injectors

I just bought a 92 GTR and one of the issues i need to address is mismatched injectors. The car has 4 stock injectors and 2 800 CC injectors from what i have been told. What kind of issues would this cause? It doesn't seem to idle very well and appears to be running way rich. VERY black exhaust.
    Thanks.

get those out immediately, you will destroy your piston rings and eventually your connecting rod bearings as the fuel saturates the oil.

i don't know what else is done to it for sure. I can tell you that it has Ractive air filters, 3" exhaust, and a 5Zigen muffler. Beyond that, it's pretty much a guessing game. And, no, he didnt know what he was doing. I don't either, but the difference is that I admit it. LOL

WTF.... I guess on the bright side better to be rich than lean....? You can pick up stock injectors pretty easy on ebay if you dont have a local option. Where the hell would the previous come up with just 2 800cc injectors anyways...

I don't know. In his defence, he took it to a shop to have all seals replaced and they said they did but I looked at the engine and it was obvious they didnt. Pretty easy to see if the oil pan gasket is new. So those were the guys who did the injectors too. They said his option was 800's or 1000's. Good grief. It's really not the sellers fault. I think he just got hosed. Lucky for me tho. I got a good deal. I really wonder if the old injectors can be revived.
