  • jun oil pump + reimax gear.

Hey guys, i have made an order on rhdjapan to get a jun oil pump + a reimax gear set. they asked me to tell them the size i need for the reimax gear (81mm or 77mm) as they dont know more then me. after my researches on the internet it seem's to be 81mm. can anyone confirm? thanks.

why do you want the reimax gears for the jun pump?

just get the jun pump alone, it's more than good enough for whatever you're doing.

Not to rain on anyones parade

But the Grex and Jun pump I think are the same pump.
I am going through converting to external pump wet sump because my pump gear cracked.
Luckly I found it right after it happened so it id not grenade or starve oil.
Biggest shoulda/woulda thing that sits in the back of most RB owners minds is the oil pump.
        I was lucky.
        Others have not been.
Seriously consider walking away from the standard design/style pumps if you want to have peace of mind.
The engine never hit the limiter during any of the tuning nor prior.

This is just my opinion coming from my experience trying to help out the community.
Here is where I am getting my pump setup from.

Tomeis pump is the only one that may have a chance because the driven gear is actually 2 separate pieces so if the inner part cracks it may not effect the pump gear. sorry don't have a pic for that.

I don't believe the Grex and Jun are the same. There have been many rumors over the years regarding oil pumps, and none of them are true.

Jun + Reimax is interesting...the Tomei pump is the top of my list for reliability though.

I would go with tomei over jun,

personally i run an external oil pump.

I'm running a jun pump and it seems to be nothing less than stellar!

Can I ask why tomei is considered to be royalty when it comes to oil pumps?

                    Strictly curious.
                    Cheers!

I think it is because they have designed the inner gear in two pieces incase it does crack the fracture
will not reach the pump gear.
