  • what you guys suggest?

I want to install my new work xd9 18x10 +18 but they're rubbing the inner plastic wheel well cover while turning: I knew it would happen but there's a solution for sure... I don't want to take the plastic off 'cause I don't want all the dirt and debris to get in the engine bay and everywhere...

What would you recommend? I m wondering if it's possible to heat up the plastic with a heatgun and then mold it a lil bit to get the shape needed for the wheel to spin freely while turning?? A friend of mine thought of may be cutting the plastic where it rubs and then using some black ''crazy carpet'' with pop rivets (plus may be some urethane) to block the hole and get the shape needed....

I don't want my gtr to look like a piece of garbage with shredded chunks of plastic hanging everywhere nor a dirty engine bay...

    any suggestions would be appreciated

    Thanks!

On my mates factory built GTR racecar that runs very wide wheels, they are removed. But on racecars they reseal the underbody (inbetween panels, etc) once they have done that.

Usually the plastic is just behind guard, so could use some washers or similar, longer mount screws to space it out enough so it doesn't rub. Also might need to trim the edges a bit. But be aware you are playing with automotive plastic, so it should take higher heat to mould it.
