Weird headlight problem

So last night my drivers side headlight went out, so i got a new light and replaced it and it didnt turn back on. I tested the lines and everything has power UNTIL i put the light back in. Soon as the light goes in everything in the line goes completely dead, I tried changing the light and holder with the passenger side one and still nothing, even tested it on the passenger side and it works fine. Any ideas what could be wrong with it? Its officially confused the hell out of me.

Try looking at the headlight switch connector on the dash. Those pins tend to burn melt and cause weird problems

Check that, even put my spare switch on, checked and replaced fuses as well. The line does get power when i turn the lights on, its only when the bulb goes in it completely kills the power.

Are you using a test light or a volt meter?

Here's a diagram

The headlamp relay actually has left and right connections
Maybe it has gone bad on one half.
You can determine if you have a bad ground in the harness by supplying your own for the left headlamp.
If that doesn't work then supply a new power to the low side power of the bulb socket. If either of those tests work then you know at least what side of your circuit you should trace.

Problem with meters is they don't simulate the electrical load so you may have the volts but if there is corrosion you loose the amperage to light up a light.

Prob the highbeam/signal switch, mine used to blink on and off evey now and then, I took it all apart, the little copper connectors didn't have enough tension to make contact, I just bent them a little works fine now. flick the switch a few times, might come back on,

Where is this one located if its not the instrument panel one?
