hey guys, im going to be doing a timing belt job on my car. 160k on the clock and hasnt been touched before. Im reading the service manual and it says not to mess with the tensioner sutd. Should i just leave it alone and replace the idler bolt and all other hardware or should i go the full 9 and double nut the stud out and replace? what did you guys do?

Replace ilder, tensioner studs and cam, crank oil seals, waterpump, tensioner bearing, idler bearing, cambelt. The studs are known to snap after a cambelt change (age related failure due to lots of hot, cold cycles, probably cambelt being too tight to allow for stretch).Last edited by Skym; 01-31-2014, 07:16 PM.RESPONSE MONSTER
