  • Tuning: 1 or 2 wideband !?

With the haltech ecu, I'm switching to a wideband system for tuning. Should I go with the dual wideband channel for each downpipe or should I go with one sensor where it merge into one ??

I thought that maybe one turbo might show a A/F slightly different than the other one because 4-5-6 cylinder could be leaner or it wouldn't matter ?

On this same topic my front turbo has a fitting and a sensor in it that I was told was likely a wideband(aftermarket gauges were removed from front clip). Would that give an accurate reading and is that possibly what it is?
    Sorry for thread jacking

What does Robin have to say. He'll be the one tuning it.
If it were me I would want one for each cylinder. Where that isn't possible the next best thing would be having 2.

Robin is in asia for 3-4 months and its a bit difficult to get a hold on him right now hence why the question

I'm thinking picking 2 also but its 250$ more. so if its not needed, I wont buy it lol. I asked RAW and they said i should go with one.. while I believe haltech tech told me i should get 2. Mixed answer here :S

More info is almost always better. Considering you'll be able to see what each set of 3 is doing and make better adjustments (compensating for the rear two cylinders running slightly leaner for ex.) I don't see how it couldn't be useful.
          $250? Why so much?

I don't see how there is mixed info here. if you have the money get 2, it definitely won't hurt. if you don't have the money get 1, its worked for everyone else.

dunno ! haha the single channel is 299 and the dual channel is 549$. go figure out, ''same box'' + 1 additionnal sensor.

ANyways, I will get 2 and call it a day. I'm tired of cheaping out and having to undo it to finally do it right!

Smart! I'm guessing you'll be getting really busy once spring comes. You'll have your Visa paid off in no time.

I can't see how 2 is better than 1. You're now taking an avg of 3 cylinders instead of 6. you still don't have data for tuning AFR on individual cylinders.

1 o2 sensor and 6 egt sensors is the ticket.
                        oh hai!

yep one for each cylinder,, dial in each injector !

you'd need 2 of these as they hand 4 cylinders each...

that's a little too hardcore for me i think loll, not to mention i doubt the aem box would work with the haltech ecu.

1 is plenty. Most of us do 1.

you could do 6 EGT if you have extra cash but 1 sideband is fine.
