  • RB26DETT with Z32 Maf's on Stock Airbox

In my quest for a simple intake setup i've finally found what I believe is the stealthiest upgrade...with the exception of Nismo AFM's which are the ultimate but also the expensive.

What we have here is a stock BCNR33 airbox with custom adapters that allow Z32 80mm AFM's to be bolted up. The airbox was not modified at all so the stocker's can be simply bolted back on if needed. The adapters are made from 3/8 steel which are bolted with countersunk fasteners to the airbox and then the AFM's are bolted to the adapter. All the factory rubber intake piping remains and just needed a heat gun to soften it alittle and then it slides over the maf.

I used to have Apexi pods with the stock maf's but when they maxed out it was time for and upgrade. I had initially made the adapters to attach the bigger maf's to the apexi elbows but later decided to run a stock airbox. I haven't dyno'd it yet to see if there is a difference in power between the apexi setup and the stock airbox but that will happen this summer.

Just thought id post this up as ive never seen anybody do this. Its now been done.

I wish I had black gasket maker silicone instead of blue but what can ya do

I wouldn't mind going back to stock airbox however I only have the bottom portion that the mafs bolt onto :/
