  • Loosening tension on the power steering belt...

Hello, as the title says I am attmepting to loosen the tension on the power steering belt without success. I have undone the holding screw off the tensioner and backed off the tensioner bolt shown in these two pictures.

After this I figured I would have some slack and tried pushing down on the power steering pump but I'm not getting it to budge at all. Is there anything else I'm missing or a trick to get me some slack?

One more bolt behind pulley. You can only see this bolt when the pulley is turned at a certain degree which exposes bolt head

Is it engine side or passenger side?

if you look at ur power steering pulley there are two elongated holes on the face of the pulley. rotate ur pulley and eventually u will see a bolt head around maybe 10 o'clock thru these elongated holes on the face of the pulley. as per ur second pic it seems u might have to turn a little bit counter clockwise and then the bolt head will be exposed.

btw a shallow 14mm socket with a 3/8 drive ratchet will be perfect for that

hope this helps. just imagine where the pump is suppose to pivot from

This is very helpful! Thank you so much, I knew I was missing something obvious.

Removed the bolt at 10 o'clock and it's still not budging. Is there anything else that I'm missing?
