  • My GTR34 wont start

Last night after I took my car for a car wash in front of my friends shop, my car wont start. I thought maybe the spark plugs went bad, go ahead and change the spark plugs, then I started right away.
Drove it and had dinner, went back to the car and start the car, the car wont start. Went back to my friends shop to pick up some tools to change the plugs again, it started again and drove it to my friends shop to have it check out.
This morning the car wont start again!! Went ahead and change the plugs for the 3rd time, the car starts. We let it idle for 10 minutes, move the car around and shut it down, waited for 5 minutes to start the car again, it wont start again.
The car cranks, but it just wont start.
someone have any idea why this happens?

I would suspect an issue with you coil harness or ignitor perhaps?
That is an unusual problem but where it starts working after you adjust the coil wiring it's a likely culprit.
Try a scan for codes next time it won't start aswell.

What did the plugs look like when you pulled them? Fouled all to hell or clean?

Remember he has coil packs with built in ignitors, you might want to try swapping coil packs with another BNR34 and see if that fixes it (not sure if S2 R33 GTR have the same type of coil packs?)

As far as I know, only on GTS models. R34 GTR has a different brand CAS (different pinouts on Hitachi CAS plug vs early Mitsubishi on R33, R32 which use the same ignition setup), key part on exhaust cam for CAS.

Sounds like ignition module if after 10 minutes (when it gets hot). If engine starts when cold, bingo.

CAS would cause hard start when cold or hot due to the lazy bearings inside CAS. Engine can stall, miss, etc when the 2x bearings have failed inside CAS. Usually can replace the bearings, but is difficult to pull CAS apart without damaging it (need a bearing puller for bearing on shaft, grinder to remove weld for locking pin on part that engages front of exhaust cam, etc).
