  • Bad fuel pump relay?

Anybody have a new relay just spontaneously crap out for no apparent reason before? I hardwired new Deatschwerks pump through a relay a week or so ago and it's been fine until tonight when it decided to die sitting at a light. Testing everything out my fuses are good, power and switched are fine and the ground checks out. But no power seems to come out of the relay output when 'on'

Could be the cheapo princess auto relay? Anybody else encounter this before? Think I'll swing by my local auto electric and see if they have anything better.

I also use those princess auto ones, I had one short out at the car was, guess some water got in there and the relay/fan just stayed on... Never had one just die though, I think I have 3 of those now... I always make sure I get the big one though... I think it's 40 amp

Buy a Bosch relay and leave it at that. Or if your strapped you can remove the cap and sand/clean the contacts.
