  • Low Mount Single Turbo Conversion

Ive taken out my stock turbo and am in the process of putting the single and manifold in. I cant find any guides on low mount turbos like this one, ive got the turbo in, then realized i need to remove it to put in the manifold. Even with the turbo out and rocker cover off theres no way of the mani fitting. Does anyone know how to go about this? Im getting fed up as Ive spent all summer with the car and havn't even got to drive it, I either have to move the power steering pump or the hard abs lines at the back and idk which is easier. Might save up and get a diffferent mani, any help is appreciated. Also where would i get a charge pipe made for this low mount mani if I ever get it in?

Are you sure it is a low mount....some top mount mannies had the wastegate mounted topside instead of down below. Try it the other way.

*Edit* wait a minute, they can't be turned upside down like that, they aren't mirror imaged like that. How about a pic of the interferences you are taking about....don't be shy now.

This is what custom low mount headers look like when installed on a RB30 engine (RB26 head, RB30 bottomend) -
