  • Think my RB26DETT is blown? :(

To sum up what I wrote in my intro to the forums, I recently (3-weeks ago) bought a GTR-32, the car is damaged pretttyyy badly in the front end. Left front rad support got pushed back into the timing belt cover, and the timing belt cover has a crack/hole the size of a toonie / dollar. When I got the car, the battery was completely dead, so I jumped it until it had full power, and when I try to start the car, it doesn't even crank.. it just sounds like an empty spinning... Not to bias any opinions, but, I had this problem w/ my 04' WRX when the timing belt skipped for some unknown stupid reason and the pistons bent the valves. I think I hear the same sound w/ the Skyline that the WRX made when it went to snap-city.
I have "cellphone" aka potato quality video of it that I'll try to upload to Youtube..
Any thoughts on what it could be based on that awful description?

    Picture of engine bay:

Edit: Video of it (took the video @11pm, sorry I know its dark and hard to see)
1993 Nissan Skyline GTR R32 RB26DETT motor not turning over. Has full power.

Take the top timing cover off and see if the belt is still on. Does your crack spin when your cranking? You need to isolate if the starter isn't engaging the crank or if the no start is engine related

Posted a video on Youtube, not entirely sure if starter is engaging.. I can't really take the timing cover off, as that rad support is pushed in there so hard, there's no room. Taking it to my shop to start pulling it soon..

Why in God's name are you trying to start the engine before fixing the damage?
          oh hai!

I was under the assumption it was fixed body wise. Your intake system is destroyed causing unmetered air, does your alternator even work? You have a harness running on the rad support which is causing god knows what electrical issues. I agree, tear it down and repair before starting to diagnose a no start.

Yeah, I agree completely, however, my impatience got the better of me and I wanted to hear it "running"

I already have it on the frame machine, we'll be taking bits and pieces off to see what is salvageable and what's not. That and so we don't break anything else. Thanks for the input for now!

I'll keep you guys updated with what happens / if the problem persists after repairs. Thanks a bunch.
