  • Oil Filter # ? Greddy oil cooler and filter relocation kit

    Hello everyone,

1992 Nissan skyline GTR with Greddy oil cooler and oil filter relocation kit

So I have been looking through the forum posts and I read that the FRAM 3682 filter would fit my application.

I went to my local parts store and asked for a WIX oil filter that is the same as the fram. I was given a WIX 51361.
I got home and this filter will not thread on to the mount.
I took it back and purchased the FRAM 3682 (even though I didn't want to run Fram), again it will not fit.
I purchased an AMSOIL EAO38, it also wont fit

Anybody have any idea which filter will fit??

    Thanks

I have the TRUST GREXX kit and run a Toyota factory filter, 90915-YZZD1, I believe I changed it up to a Bosch part last time have to look

      I also have a grex kit, I just use a filter from a 240, but I believe it's the 3682

might have to try my local Nissan dealer. Last time I was there looking for tension rod bushings they said they don't have a catalog for skyline's so I have to provide part numbers. Will probably be the same for the oil filter so don't know what to ask for....

The real Greddy kit thread size is 3/4-16 and the filter for the 240 should fit. I use the ae86 filter which is 2951 or 4967 for newer Toyotas. Looking at Fram's site the cross reference number for WIX filter should be 51360, 51394 or 51395; for Amsoil the filter should be EAO09.

So looks like your partsman gave you the wrong parts.

sorry, just cross referenced the 240 filter and looks like the other part numbers are correct. I think the 240 filter is one size larger then the Toyota (oem Trust) filter but the threads should be the same. I would check the thread size of your adapter or bring the center piece in and see if you can find a filter that fits. if the kit came with your car then see what filter you have on at present. I think there are only three thread sizes for oil filters so it shouldn't be that hard to find a filter that fits.

It came with a " Honda s20842 " that has Japanese writing on it. I took it to Honda and they could not figure it out. Tried cross-referencing and couldn't find anything. The Fram 3682 seemed like it would fit but the thread pitch was definitely wrong. I think I will have to take off the center piece like you said and see if they can match it for me at the parts store.

Thanks for the info and help so far everyone.

If the kit came with your car then it is not a Greddy relocation kit or it was a mix and match. Honda filters are metric like this:

                      http://framcatalog.com/PartDetailWin...b=F&pn=PH3593A

What you need to check are the thread size, gasket ID and OD, and the relieve pressure. the casing height and OD is not as important but better if you can find a size that is close to the one you are replacing.

Thank you for the info "Bossman". I purchased a fram PH3593A and it fits perfectly. Now that I know that Fram # works I am going to look into a higher quality filter that cross-references with it. Again appreciate the effort and info. Cheers

                        :-)
