  • Comments about Apexi exhaust control valve

Here's the thing, just got my 32 out for a nice, first ride of the season. Was on highway, legal speed 110-120, not f*cking with anybody, then a cop pulls out from nowhere, lights on, catching up on me... My gut feeling told me it was my exhaust...

Miss tells me its way too loud. I didn't argue with her as I knew it was a lost cause. 160$ fine

I dont want to be in this situation again...

So, who has experienced that valve already? And is anybody got one for sale?

    Thanks!

I dont have one personally but i have heard them in person on cars and make a considerable difference. Just last week a cadillac CTS-V had some installed and sounded stock when idle and when open was rediculous. He put down 756whp on a mustang dyno so they cant be that restrictive either.

i always was under the assumption these were for a y-pipe so you could open the exhaust up before the cat. But working as a restrictive noise reduction i guess would work. Many cars nowadays have similar designs in the tailpipe. They have a few different configurations, ECM controlled electrical, Backpressure computer controlled, vacuum/spring. It would be cool to retrofit that into a skyline.

I have used one on the gtr. It does quiet things down substantially. They are about 62mm I.D. I have it removed and would consider selling.

I dont think it could do damage. It couldnt be anymore restrictive than a catalytic converter.
