  • Fuel gauge doesn't pass halfway

Hey guys, since my fuel pump was changed out to a nismo model the fuel gauge doesn't go past halfway when I fill the tank up... it works after i burn half the fuel all the way to empty but thats about it... is there something that can be done regarding this... should i take out the fuel pump and have a look at the float?

Let me know if you've experienced a similar problem and have fixed it

Its worth pulling out and having a look. Leave the sender plug for the float hooked up and operate the float manually and observe the level on the gauge. The float arm could be bent a bit out from the original position giving a poor reading.

Most likely the float part, as I remember a few have had that problem in the past on the forums.

so i pulled it apart and it looks like when the fuel pump was changed they left the wiring in a way that it would restrict the float rod from fully rising in the tank... so i just moved the wires to the side and threw a zap-strap around them and the vent line to keep them back and away. Now to get it on the road and fill the tank... excited to see the fuel gauge rise to the top... oh the little things that make us happy
