  • Loud clicking noise from rear while driving

This just started happening today. I haven't put the car on jacks yet but I was hoping someone had heard this noise before and knows exactly what it is. It's a REALLY loud clicking noise from the rear end that seems to be just as loud on the right as the left. It definitely has a rhythm to it. People walking on the side of the road were turning and looking at me so it's pretty f-ing loud and not inside the car.

The best thing I can compare it to would be the noise your bike would make when you were a kid (or an adult, I'm not judging) and put something to rub up against the spokes. But much louder and more distinct.

You can hear it best in the video (link below) at the ten second mark.

Well, this was a strange one but ended up being really easy to find. It was the little metal bracket between each set of two bolts on the driveshaft to diff connection. One of the bolts came off and that little bracket was swinging and hitting my muffler.

There's a big gash in my muffler but it doesn't seem to be a hole so no exhaust leak (I hope). Once I track down a bolt I'll be good to go.
