  • How do i turn on my AC???

I know this is the dumbest possible thread but I cant figure it out! I push the AC button and it says "18 degrees C." THAT AIN'T COLD B***H! and if i tell it to go colder by pushing the cold arrow nothing happens. Also, my ambient temp thinks its -30 degrees outside. in may. its +30C here. But i don't care about the ambient thing. How do i make it cold?!?
I've been brushing my teeth with jack but it's resulted in terrible amounts of tooth decay.

Quite possible your A/C is either leaking, or needs a recharge.

oh dear, that sounds fun. could that make the climate control not willing to display anything below 18C?

If AC needs a recharge, AC will feel warmer when you turn on aircon -

If you press AMB button, it gives you ambient temperature in the cabin. Press AC button then auto button. Then I think was up and down arrow to select temperature.

Sometimes the headunit has bad solders behind it and plays up if it's been in the sun alot (common age related problem). I had a link to a how to on repairing this problem, but can't find it.

Or could be the sensor, which I think is located on the bottom right of black plastic trim that's around the centre console. It has a small grate looking vent in the plastic trim.

if you hold the cold button for a few seconds it should go to "FC" which is an automatic fast cold function, same thing with 32c.

lower is 18°c, and I did a recharge when I had the car, AC fuse is burned, compressor is not turning on, that's why it's not cold, but ehh .. I rolled windows down so didn't even change this. Check out everyfuse.

if it's just a burnt fuse i hope its not because of a problem with the AC. my porsche 944 kept burning the AC fuse because something was wrong with the condenser. it wouldnt be the end of the world if it didnt work though, i like the wind in my lack of hair anyway.

yeah i just got same issue on mine after the accident as ICBC discharge my AC, charge me $40 enviro fee.

I will eventually recharge it but it is best to get it professionally done.

AC fuse was fine. The cigarette lighter fuse was annihilated though. Never seen a fuse so twisted lol

My temp only goes to 18c and does not go lower. I push the AC button and I can see and feel the revs twitch as the condensor kicks in and it blows cold air.

then maybe I didn't recharge it correctly.. Always thought it was the big AC fuse in the fusebox inside the engine bay

does 18C seem cold to you guys? thats about 64 fahrenheit which seems warm to me if it's the coldest it'll go.

When ac is working the air coming out of the vents is colder then 18C. on a hot day you freeze. at least with working r12

i checked out the relay, there's connectivity between terminals 1 and 2 as indicated on the top of the relay, and that's all. should there be connectivity between other combinations of the terminals?
