  • Only hot air coming through vents

So since the weather has been a lot warmer I need to get this fixed asap. My car won't blow anything but hot air through the vents. I can scroll through my climate control from the coldest to hottest settings but the temperature stays fixed on the hottest setting. All the buttons are working, everything else seems to be working fine.

    Anyone else have this issue?

My car is a 1990 R32 GTS-T if that helps.

    Thanks.

it's the air temp. sensor in your center console right beside your ash tray. check to see if it's unplugged if it's even there at all.

Thanks Nate. Yeah it's gone, any idea how it looks like or where I can find one?

step 1. check you freaking email (fb request)

          step 2. find my number

step 3. text it then ask for a spare int. ambient temp sensor (WHICH i have)

step 4. bring money or beer to the meet.

          step 5. install

step 6. cold air and warm air blows on your face with a few click of a button.

          step 10. profit.

Alright so it turns out I still had my original sensor still plugged in.... it was just tucked behind my deck and a shitload of wires. So i pull it up front plug in the black hose, screw it down to the trim, and what a disappointment. Same **** happening, tried the new sensor as well, and no difference.

                Any other ideas?

no, it's the hose for cabin amb. temp sensor that needs to be plugged in.

Dreadedfist has some colder air now.

Yeah I was like wtf did he just do!? And then the air was a bit colder. Even with no AC. I still don't know what he plugged in

I'm going through the same thing right now. What I've tried so far:
                            • I swapped out my a/c dash unit and that didn't help.
                            • Checked the relays in the box under the hood
                            • Checked wiring from dash unit to ecu and ecu to relay box

And nothing has helped. The only way I can get the AC unit to come on is by bypassing the signal with a wire directly at the fuse box. I'm waiting for access to another ecu maybe hoping that's the problem because I can't see anything else.

It just appears that the relay isn't getting a signal

Can someone please post a pic of the part you're talking about in the dash that needs to be plugged in? Maybe I'm just missing that.

                            Thanks!

When looking at the dash trim, theres a small vented section in the bottom right, something like 4-5 slits. Behind that is the cabin air temp sensors. This needs to have the hose behind it plugged into it, along with the wiring loom to correctly relay cabin air temps to the Temp control unit. With this unplugged, you will only get warm air.
