I have very few options, all southern ontario only, I cant cross the boarder, they dont want Canadians with records in the States, they told me they got enough of them already LOL
Not to mention the distance, Sudbury ON is 3 hours from the closest tuning shop,(Toronto) if my car is not running I can hardly opt for a tow, so....
And if it is running I cant take a risk of running too lean or rich for that long, damage will definitely happen.
I need to just be patient and search for a way, it will happen no doubt about that.
    Thanks everyone

Thicker headgasket lowers compression. 1.2 mm is factory thickness, stockish compression.

RB20DET iron block is the strongest of the RB engines (more meat between cylinders, water galleries).

400hp is the boost up for stock RB20DET bottomend if engine is in good condition and serviced correctly.

      Potential of RB20DET -

      400hp RB20DET (R32GTS-T chassis weighs something like 1000kg-1110kg) runs a 1:01 around Tsukuba in Japan -

600hp RB28DETT (R33GTR, R34GTR chassis weighs something like 1700kg) runs similar 1:01 laptime around Tsukuba in Japan -

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

With RB20DET, just have to drop to lower gear, keep engine in powerband before reaching a corner. That's the key to getting the best lap from a RB20DET engine. Or hold onto gear (keep engine in powerband) and don't change up before 1/4 mile line (works with GTS, GTR).

With ECU tuning, can put car on rented car trailer and use rented car to tow it to tuner. Or there might be car transporter companies that can do it for you.

Just picked up a HKS GT2540-63T from Adam at Feast
Should be good to push that old engine hard

keepe the 20 , but swap in a GTR transmission.
it smuch cheaper and easier to build a 20.

Hey guys I got most of my turbo set up and fuel set up, now im stuck deciding on what Im going to do for my Head. I have a Tomei HG stock bore and ARP head stud already, but I need to know what needs to be change to have a happy rev reliable head (best recommendations).
What is the best valves, springs etc.. for high revving
                  thanks guys

When you rev engine, valve guides can crack due to heat (mentioned in link below and has happened on engines in real life). Tomei bronze valve guides are used to solve this problem -

Valve springs are worked out based on lift of cams or peak revs engine is going to encounter (as shown on chart in link below) -

Stock valves don't need to be replaced with oversized valves unless you are porting head and fitting high duration, high lift cams, upgraded intake, exhaust manifolds to match. But then it becomes a midrange too peak hp type of engine. If need oversized valves, Supertec in USA make them for RB20DET.

I would just replace valve springs and valve guides and recut valve seats for perfect seal, skim head for head gasket. Can port match exhaust manifold to head for extra flow and do the same on stock exhaust manifold to turbo exhaust housing flange.

It's best to keep stock revlimiters and produce peak hp at 6000rpm and then just crank the boost up with boost controller to make up for lack of revs. That's the awesome part about turbocharged engines is you can use boost level instead of revs.

So I think I could get this done myself
but would it be better to have a engine shop install the valve springs etc.. since I have never done this??
Get the parts, take the head off and send it to the right place, theres only two machine shops where I live that build engines, can any engine shop be trusted to build a head ?? Or does it take someone who has done a Skyline before ??

Cylinder head shop or some engine builders with the correct equipment. Experience with RB engine helps. But I've noticed it's the same process on any engine including V8's. Basically crack test, pressure test, reseat valve seats (best to do all of them), check + skim deck of head. Also extra's like changing valve guides while valves are out, etc.

Valve springs just require a valve spring removal tool and keep parts for each valve (retainer, valve sping, valve, etc) together, from where you removed it from head in a tray, so don't mix them up. But best to give whole head, new valve springs, valve guides to cylinder head shop or engine builder, as they need to pressure test head, etc.

I will call the places in town that could do it and see what they say.
