  • Rear Tire drag spin on sharp turn normal?

    Hey, I have done quite a bit of work to my R32 GTS-T in the past week. I just got it and did full exhaust and new brakes/rotars, also installed new rear tie rods. However there is something I am worried about perhaps was the reason for the tie rods wearing out. But when I turn sharp with this car the rear wheels skip or spin when i turn sharp. is there adjustment on the LSD or should I just let it drag the outside or spin the inside tire? It seems like it can lay a legit patch of rubber this way and i don't mind it if you guys think it will last after all I do want to upgrade the intercooler and max out my turbo to full potential and having the rear tires in such a locked position would lead to amazing looking tire smoke.

    Sounds like you diff is welded to me.
    Traction is optional, so are zipties

      mine does the exact same thing.. i figured it was normal?

        Yea welded or you have a full spool someone put in for drifting.

        The purpose of doing that is so both tires light up when you want them to,every single time. Perfect for drifters but a huge pain in the ass if you like just cruising around and driving around town

          Since he just said it happens on sharp turns, that could mean that you could have just found out that your car has a 2 way. in that case, thumbs up

            ^ you won't notice a welded Diff or full/mini spool driving straigh = tires turning same speed, even turning softly it's hard to notice. I had a welded diff in my commodore when I lived in Australia it was a blast !

              its caused because in a turn the inner tire should turn a little faster on a regular diff but on a 2 way or welded diff the clutch packs do not dissingage the inner wheel to allow it to move faster so you end up spinning the inner to make up for it not covering as much distance

                The outer wheel must spin faster bc it has more ground to cover.

                    At least you can get both wheels spinning. My stock vlsd is worn out and just single spins no matter what.

                      This is great news!! I was hoping that it was OK to have my car setup like this. I do plan on ripping the rear tires off quite regularly. Both tires going are ideal.

                        You just have a mechanical LSD in there, it's normal. My stock one will scrub the inside tire (GTR) and an aftermarket one will have about 300lbs more preload than that. Even a 1.5way will do that, the a$$ end of these cars are just too light (not a bad thing) for that not to happen.

                        Even the inner tire on my 4000lb Chevelle would scrub with an 800lb preloaded 2way in it.

                            It's fun.

                            I've been there before with Viscous LSD on my car. It spins passenger side wheel.

                            An example of the chattering from LSD as it's called is at 1:36 -

                            Short drive in a newly purchaces HCR32. Fitted with small single, fuel system and so much more. Should be a Kelowna BC sleeper!
